Education:
James is a highly experienced and qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach with 14 years of gym floor experience.
As well as the practical experience gained James has achieved a bachelor of science in health exercise and physical activity from St Marys University. This degree is aimed at helping the general population achieve a healthy active lifestyle with evidence-backed training and lifestyle change.
James went on to study for a master of science degree attaining this qualification in 2022 from Middlesex University. This degree aims to increase the performance of elite athletes and professional team sports players. Pulling from this well-rounded education James can provide optimal training services relevant to the individual.
Athletic career:
At an amateur level, James has experience competing in Taekwondo, Brazilian jujitsu and Muay Thai. This led to MMA where James has a 1-0 record.
Olympic weightlifting, James has been an active weightlifting competitor for the last 10 years, he has medalled at the British University championship twice and got 4th place at the 2017 English championship. He has represented Team Jamaica since 2021 competing at 5 competitions including 2 world championships, a Pan American championship and the IWF World Cup.
Coaching experience:
James was a co-founder and coach of Battersea Weightlifting Club, and former head coach of St Mary's Strength Weightlifting Club in 2017. These roles included delivering programming, technical feedback and competition day coaching.
James has been a strength and conditioning coach for multiple amateur and professional athletes in a wide range of sports like Boxing and Rugby.
